Hey everyone, I'm struggling to come up with a mission to do... er make* ;) I'd like to do one about Islam or some history of it.. some aspect most don't really know about.. i don't want it controversial/unacceptable so any advice or something that you'd like me to do would be very much appreciated..Thanks ^^ |

Some information about the script - what the writing looks like, what other languages it's related to could be interesting. How did Islam grow out of what was there and how does it fit in with what's here now? |

My ultimate answer is art. There is so much on the subject of art of Islam, which many people are never subjected to. It might be an eye opener for many people :) |

Islam has a terrible rep at the moment due to a few individuals actions. It'd be nice to see a mission showing how Islam is helping the world become a better place... That's my two DeeP's anyways. |

Mmm I got off track and did one on the major tenets/beliefs of Islam, just so i'd have it down pat before going into anything else.. How its helping the world... yeah that would be good now to think of a way to incorporate that into a mission ; ) |

Knowing Mohammed's culture when the Islam was founded would probably be helpful in explaining why the doctrines turned out that way. The development of the Koran within this context(I think other people have added on to it as the years passed) is also an interesting topic. A lot of unfortunate things can happen because things are taken out of context. |

"some aspect most don't really know about" Most don't really know about just about every aspect of Islam. My brother converted to Islam and recently got married. I found the ceremony to be fascinating, particularly because it was a learning experience for me. Perhaps a mission revolved around the wedding ceremony, traditions, etc. would be an interesting one. |

@ Pixielo (sorry about the delay, I was on holiday) - I was thinking maybe about the Koran and the script in there when I suggested about the development of that - also to compare with Western script to see how similar/dissimilar we are on that front. |

@ Juroc Ooohh wow I hope he didn't just convert for the sake of marriage haha.. mmm well 'customs/traditions' really differ amoung the cultures.. indo-paki's have there own type, the minorities of arabs all differ slightly.. and on and on.. really depends on the culture.. i don't advocate much of which is done lol so i don't think i'd want to put that forward.. haha ;) but islamically there is a set path to follow.. i could do that i suppose.. how the man and the woman are supposed to interact before marriage.. etc.. whats to be done after they plan to get married.. i guess its a good idea :D mmm... i'll have to think of something after i do my paper and attend class on tues haha |
