I was taking a look at the Associations for the game and something occurred to me; What are the incentives to play a Bedouin, Benefactor, Seer, Vigilante

Allow me to illustrate.
Destroyers - set mines in hopes of taking DP. The incentive to gain more DP.

Vigilante - While has the role of basically neutralizing the destroyer, gets nothing for doing so.

Seer - While has the ability to lure folks to new sites (and possibly away from a current mission) gets nothing for the portal.

Benefactor - They can puts crates in fun locations but are not guarunteed any sort of reward. They have to hope their acts of philantropy are noticed and returned.

Pathmaker - creates alot of missions. Sure this is required for leveling up but everyone has to do this. The only obvious incentive I see here is to make it easier to buy lamposts.

Bedouin - They wear armor. Don't get me wrong armor is nice, but why? why is this a class? What do they do?

All said, there are some self gratification incentives for some of these associations but the overall game related bonuses seem to be missing. The easy or perhaps obvious answer would be DP returns for many of these associations. Examples:
- dp given for vigilantes that foil a destroyer
- creating portal with X amount of players who take it or X rating = DP
- destroying mines with armor so many times (mine sweeper) gives DP
- creating missions with X amount of players who take it or X rating = DP
- placing crates in some manner (I have no idea how) would grant DP

There is also the non DP route. I don't have many ideas on what these could be. Something to the affect of the above examples but replace DP with tools, etc.

I love this idea for a game. It's very unique and has alot of potential. The whole idea around 'classes' is that each has it's own tools and reasons for being. Some of that element appears to be missing at the moment.

I like the idea of associations have better versions of their specific items, that only their association can use (or maybe non-tradable), doesn't provide a monetary "value" but would make the game funner imo

Destroyers don't actually gain anything from mining people - the player who loses the DP just loses it.

We're adding onto the associations later. Thanks for playing!

Your welcome for playing! It's very enjoyable :P

But to add to the original post, destroyers like mentioned various places before need DP for successful mines :D

Each player who does a mission earns the creator 10 DPs.
Now go do mine! ;)

Oops, I guess I didn't realize that part about the destroyers. Nor about the missions. I stand corrected.

If/when you add the new layer into the game I have a feeling you'll see a flurry of activity! This is fun to play and fun to watch.

Keep it up!

<edit>
PS
I did more forum searching and I found out more info about how DP is earned.
