First, I stand against "Passively" playing. But I think that PMOG has come up with a great concept in this game.

I would like more tools and ways to connect with other players because I think those activities are fun.

But remember that there is a balance point; You want to be logged in to PMOG all the time, so how much more PMOG activity can take place before you have to "Pause your game" in order to surf the web?

Please state your opinions. What would be fun? At what point would PMOG stop being fun?

damn, youse right. (and without being a dick! cool!!!) i think mebbe personal settings would be cool....to be able to prescribe your own involvement/passiveness in the game...obviously some folk arent being as passive as others...some are even shaping the game. some just sit back and be, well .....passive. who knows what direction this mess will take. i love it so far.
czarchon-"I would like more tools and ways to connect with other players because I think those activities are fun."
agree with you on that bit.
i guess people will never agree, and the best way to make it fun for everyone is to make it as customizable as possible.
who knows? i am still here so far.

I see PMOG as a way to make the internet fun again. I don't really surf the net that much anymore but now at least when I do I feel like I'm having fun no matter what boring crap or hilarious jokes I'm reading.

I don't know if I can even think of a time when PMOG wouldn't be fun seeing as it really is just something going on in the background to entertain me. Like my own way to leave my mark on the net.

I guess the only way you could make it "not fun" is if it became ridiculously competitive, and I couldn't surf the net without feeling like other passive-ists were going to ruin something as simple as reading my webcomics. Really though that doesn't seem likely at all. It's just one more add-on to tool with and enjoy, not a basis for how to spend your day.

Hope that about answers your question.

@ rozonkomo You about summed up my thoughts.

I'll add though (and not to get all weird or anything) I haven't really 'surfed' the net in ages. I go to my usual haunts like webcomics, forums, DevArt and maybe wonder around wiki for a while... but searching out new sites? Neh, doesn't happen. I have my friends spamming me enough rubbish to keep me busy.

Pmog has sort of... rekindled my surfing desires though. 'Tis fun!

More Tools and Associations are in the works...
Be patient...

And yes, I agree with Shard...I have a rekindled love of surfing now...I've found a ton of sites that I definitely would not have otherwise...
I like it!

I love it as I would never have found dozens of sites I now visit daily due to PMOG. I had gotten used to the web and didn't explore anymore.

PMOG has indeed rekindled my love of surfing the net. i am glad for it. glad for the (well constructed) missions i have taken that have enlightened me further, taught me things, and shown me tools i have not been privy to prior. glad for the community. glad for all the new experiences. and the slight competitive/vindictive side of me has been stimulated every time i trip a mine, or one of my allies gets attacked. it is engaging and stimulating at the same time. methinks users get too caught up in the word 'passive'. dont get me wrong, i love the idea, but were this game truly passive, it would be no more stimulating or engaging than the refresh button or your bookmarks on your toolbar......passive my ass. this game is rekindling my love for the series of vaccuum tubes that slowly suck the brains out of you-invented by al gore(TM). VIVA LA PMOG!!!!

@shard I'd agree about it encouraging people to surf the internet anew, sliding into a comfort zone is all too easy... the net being so very, very large.

When I described this passive game to someone verbally it did immediately become apparent that it is more passive in terms of ethos than function. It plays on the prevalence of conversational web mediums like Twitter for an illusion of the passive, the casual levelling and shared bookmark feel of the missions. so while it does tinker and draw your eye, enticing clicks of interaction your mind forgives it or mists over. I expect that the pleasure responses of new content and information make you too giddy to detect any anti-passive treachery! ;)

Forgive me any errors, It is 2am... And I should be retiring to bed... :/
