I haven't been hit by a mine yet (famous last words), but I started getting paranoid, so I finally donned my armor. My armor switched from (Off) to (On) and my armor count went down. If I doff it, will I lose that piece of armor, or will it return to me? i.e. Having donned it, 1) is it in my interests to keep it on until I eventually hit a mine, or 2) can I switch it on and off at will at no cost? Is there some simpler explanation of using armor that I'm missing? Will I ever get over the EN-GB dictionary telling me I've misspelled armour? :) d@vid |

Think of your toolbar as a big crate of things. Say you have 20 pieces of armour in it and you take one out and wear it - your armour count in your toolbar goes down to 19. It's not lost, because you are wearing it. If you were to switch your armour to "off," your armour count in your toolbar would go back up to 20, so nothing is lost. In my opinion, it's in your best interests to wear armour at all times. That's its only use, after all :) And it doesn't "wear out" or anything unless you hit a mine. If someone were to put 100 mines on Google, you'd be happy to be wearing it! Each mine you trip without armour will cost you 10 dp. Also, one piece of armour will last you for three mines - so even when you hit that first mine, your armour will still not be lost! One thing to remember: after your armour finally is destroyed by mines, you have to actively put on another piece of armour. Hope this helps! |

At first it seemed obvious I should wear armor all the time, then I thought, "surely there's more to it". Anyway, thanks for clearing that up (and for the other answer too). |
