I had a bit of inspiration earlier, and plan on creating a few different series of missions - the first I wanted to try out was an informative series all about a given topic. Started with this:

http://pmog.com/missions/all_abo...

The content is extra long compared to the missions I've run through thusfar, and it's 10 sites long. Pretty hefty. I wanted to gauge the experiences of other Passivists in longer missions - thoughts, concerns, likes, etc. all.

For example, one technical thing that stood out to me right away is how difficult it is to read mission content that expands onto the "More" pop-up. Grey-On-Khaki is a little right.

Also, mission text as-is seems to be unable to accept linebreaks; I can't space out thick content by entering in empty lines. Heavy text suffers from Wall O' Text complex as a result.

I plan on doing more of these on a number of topics.. the whole concept of PMOG really has me excited, especially missions beyond "my favourite websites." Some feedback as to the acceptable of this sort of longer mish would be nice!

I've made a couple really long missions (you can find them on my profile) and they've been taken pretty good I think because everything I put in it has a point, I'm not just listing random sites, or all my favorites. I think that if a PMOGer can find something interesting about each page, it doesn't matter the length as long as its under a couple dozen :)

Good point, and good call. Ironically, I started taking more missions as soon as I posted this, and stumbled across a couple 15-20 site mishes. Hadn't run into anything above 6 or so before that.

I think my biggest concern is text length. For the technical reasons above (contrast with the extended info entries, shifting/inconsistent formatting with the extended info), and then the ability for long blocks of text to hold folks' interest.. though less that, as that's relative to each individual, I s'pose.

if you have lots of sights, you NEED well written descriptions. it either needs to be short and to the point, needs to point out something Very important or interesting, or be exceptionally funny.

I usually go for either informative, or my own king of off-set humor.

Thats my mission-creating philosophy at least, I'm sure theres many others

And quite a few people took the mission as well; it may take a while, but it's really interesting and has a lot of content to digest at your leisure.
It's nice, because if you aren't interested in one of the sites, just hit <next> and you *will* find something that you want to explore. And it generates like 200 dp just for the posts in the mission--not to mention the tangents that you inevitably explore.

Built another "All About" on a topic more likely to garner Passivist interest than politics.

All About: New Media & Digital Content

Lengthened it up and included some more multimedia to take the "punched in the face by text" feeling out of it. Thoughts're appreciated.
