I just joined today and I've done a bunch of missions. As far as I can see, they are just tours where you repeatedly click "next". I don't know about other people but I think this gets kind of boring after a while, even if the websites have interesting content. Can you implement a type of mission where there isn't a "next" button and you have to find the next website yourself? Like a discovery mission. Then when you've reached that destination, you'll find a clue or something to get to the next one. I was just thinking this might be more interesting... (Or is this feature already implemented somehow and I can't figure out how to do it?) Thanks in advance for a reply.

Could be fun, I'd be willing to join up in whatever scavenger hunt anyone wants to put together. However I personally don't think that it's a very "passive" form of gaming.
True there are arguments about the actual passivity (is that a word?) of PMOG, I've made a few points myself... However the more game-like it gets, the less passive it gets as well. I'd like it either way!

If PMOG is based on getting points for going about your life, then picture missions as "inviting people into your living room to watch you go about your life." Of course some people have cooler living rooms! :)

I know what you mean about destroying the "passivity" of it, but if I'm honest I don't think having to find missions and click through them is passive, either! It's pretty active, and it's boring. You might as well make it fun. The only truly passive way of playing this game is surfing around getting like 2 dp per website... which is a really lousy way to progress. (: I was just making a suggestion.

Yeah, this idea has been mentioned already in the forums. Dunno where... it's too hard to search :/

In the meantime, both myself and wolfechu (one of my allies) have been augmenting missions with portals. Should make them at least a bit more exciting! The one that I'm most pleased with is my Guide to Indie T-Shirts: http://pmog.com/missions/guide_t... because it has portals that lead to portals that lead to portals... and more than one portal per page, so when going 'back' you can find more!

Alternatively, instead of having the user find the next link, you could make it like a trivia game.

The user, instead of just clicking next, has to answer a question in which the answer is on the site that is being shown.

Would make the game more active as well as make sure that the user is actually reading the content instead of just clicking "next"
