Why let Chaos have all the fun? While members of Order get to lay trails and missions and use armor, they have no ... firepower.. per say. I think a perfect tool would be a nice passive exploding crate. Looks just like a normal one, but rather than a gift upon opening, it has a bang instead.

I'd also like to see all crates have a message that can appear BEFORE the crate is opened, as well as the message you get for after.

Defense for the exploding crate could be armor (which, to keep things balanced, perhaps is offered as a neutral item instead of it's current order allegiance).

Just throwing out the thoughts :)

This would be awesome :D
you wouldnt know if it was a good one or a bad one on the event page either.
Also, when oneone trips it or a mine, you should get like 5dp

But wouldn't that add to chaos, not subtract from it? I really like the idea of booby-trapping crates. Maybe you could set them to explode unless you give a password, or are a certain faction?

This is an interesting idea. You could put a mine in the crate along with anything else you want, then decide whether you wanted the mine to detonate upon opening or remain passive. It would add an element of danger to camping the feed for crates & challenge Destroyers to keep the balance of their association vs others since in order to booby trap a crate they would have to acquire & use one, thus risking a benefactor association.

I think a fake crate would be used by Destroyers more than Benefactors as each one has their own idea...

@mattnham
I agree.

In fact I think a trapped crate is more of a chaotic action then just a simple mine because it ticks someone into thinking that they are going to receive something good then they nailed instead. Not very orderly in my opinion.

I think when some of the other tools get introduced into the game the order faction will have more ways of being aggressive towards chaos members.

Also...there's the 'view crate contents' link if there's more than crate.
How would explosive crates view?

From a simple gameplay/balance standpoint; Is it really the job of the bedouin to take on a destroyer?

I don't know if the associations are currently designed with "paper-rocks-scissors" in mind. In this each association might be strong against one type and weak against another.

It's doesn't quite feel that way now, and maybe that is part of the point being made in this thread.

I think the Torch of Order "group" should deal with violence inderectly. instead of chaos-causing exploding crates. they could have crates that would freeze the player, not allowing them to drop mines/nicks for 24 hours or something.

Maybe seers could have special portals that activate when someone trys to put down a bomb, and instead of placing the bomb, the person is redirected to another site of the Seer's choice. You can either have the transported player not have the mine placed at all, or my preference, have the mine placed at the new site.

I don't know about Beduins, maybe through their knowledge of armor, they know its weakpoints and can put "kinks" in others armor?

I'm just brainstorming here

Those are some pretty cool ideas, but if the portals go off when mines are laid, that could be a problem. What if someone puts a ton of portals on a page? That page would be safe from mines for a little too long...

Esplody crates, nipping watchdogs, money making portals. Makes you wonder what might appear next, I love this game so much sometimes.

On that slightly chaotic sounding note, I have decided to forgo attempting to keep any one association so watch out for just about anything from here out. *Wears an evil grin as he sinks into the shadows*
