http://pmog.com/codex/appendices... It's kind of cool that in a game where so many people claim the best aspect is the community, we now get rewarded for it. I'm also interested to see the upgrades that come from pings and how they're going to balance a good ratio of benefit-cost. Pings earned for different actions:

I'm confused by the "Change an Acquaintance to Ally" thing, since I was always able to make people Allies without making them Acquaintances first. Actually, from the Privacy page, I always got the impression that Acquaintance was one step above Ally/Rival. |

@aalbright, yeh, I just rivaled you, and allied sylverling. That's 25 pings for me then, which brings up another loop hole to sylverling's spam concern. Still, happy to acquainte you, without getting in some pyschotic pinging on our relationship ;-) |

@sylverling That is quite confusing. To make an Acquaintance you need confirmation from the other part, but not to make an Ally - and you can be allied with someone without being their acquaintance first. So Acquaintances must be mutual, but not alliances... which is kinda odd. Also, in the Privacy page, the order is shown as Private/Acquaintance/Ally/Public, suggesting the Acquaintance, and not Ally, is higher. |

Well the obvious solution would be to make exclusive items at low low prices purchasable with ping. Also, I choose to start a movement that makes 'ping' both singular and plural. Also, ping. |
