soo...here's another idea. Although missions are nice, I feel that they could be more interactive and incorporate more social interaction to accomplish the missions. For example, you could have a different type a mission, say "quests", in which users can specify a quest for information and other users can opt answer the quest. Here are some of my initial thoughts about the questing process: 1) quests could have a time limit, and maybe should have one (see #2) 2) users who create quests should be charged (in DP); this could be relative to the time limit they select for the quest. 3) quest creators must offer an award in DP and/or items for the quest "winner" (See #7). 4) Any users who decide to undertake a quest (questers) should also be charged some nominal fee (in DP) to participate -- consumer behavior dictates that users tend to be more engaged if they have to pay something. 5) Optional: quest creators could place restrictions on types of questors, such as association classes, for participation 6) The wow factor of the gameplay: PMOG should provide functionality to "clip" text from websites to answer the quest. So, a model for webclipping, would be functionality similar to scrapbook. Of course, once a quester clips text, the appropriate URL reference will be included along with the clipped text. Maybe space for a comment can be included with the clipped text as well. 7) Lastly, at the end of quest, quest creators must select a winner from the set questers. Once a winner is selected, the DPs and items are exchanged. Thoughts? |
