This inspiration came to me in a flash of frustration. when taking a mission, I think every little mission box (the thing that has the description, the next, the previous links, the yellow box) should have a button that expands an extra option. One that allows you to skip ahead 2 lightposts This way if you're in the middle of a mission, and run across a bad post, dead link, or whatever, you can tread back 1 page, and then skip over the dead section so you can continue on with the mission. You could also force people to fill out a quick dead-link report, with multiple choice options such as "no box pops up" or "box is hidden by flash" or "link is dead". This lets you tell the creater of the mission what the problem with the link was, in order for you to "skip" ahead and continue. Sounds like an easy fix to one of the most annoying problems I've encountered |

I really like the "report an error" idea. Then again, it's always smart to take your own mission after you make it...then you can check for these things yourself. I did the other day and noticed two of my links got broken, so I quick went back and edited them. But yeah, not everyone does that. I don't think there's really a need for a "skip ahead" link, though. After all, what if they put two broken pages in a row? ;P |

a Very sound idea to test out all your missions, I defiantely do. But sometimes after a couple days the link goes bad, and I know I'm not gonna retake all my missions every 2-3 days to check. And since you can only comment on mission you complete, you as the creator don't even know of the broken links unless you redid the entire thing, or someone messaged you. I think the skip ahead is a key part, because if I'm in the middle of a mission, and really enjoying all the sites I've seen, and want to see more, its a real bummer to be cut off before its finished. not only do I not get to see the rest of the sites, I don't get the list of lightposts at the end either! And usually, unless the whole mission is bogus, dead pages are few and far between, and very unlikely to be back to back. (thats just my opinion though) |

I've just been sending Pmail to the mission-makers, along with a lightpost and a portal, but that doesn't always work. It would be cool if the error note just sent a nudge to the creator with a tip for how to fix it. Since I know nada about extension design, would it be easy (or possible) to add a radio button for types of error? I.e., the common ones, like *Flash, *frames, *site is down or link has changed. |

There would also have to be an "other" catagory and a text box explaining what the other would be just in case something else comes up... |
