The first thing I was thinking of was a button on the mission links that can be used to skip the next link in the sequence. I think it would be useful if you find a good mission with one dead link but can't finish because the link is dead. It would also be useful for people who have to work with a computer that has a filtering system on it. It way have some abuse potential and may ruin puzzle missions so I think that the mission creator should be able to enable/disable it for their mission.

The second thing I thought of is something that would alert mission builders whenever a link in their mission changes content or becomes nonfunctional so they can change it. Maybe this already exists, I'm not sure. I also don't know anything about programming so I don't know if it would work.

Anyway, just some thoughts.

I can't speak for the Trustees, but I know it would introduce a lot of overhead to monitor (all existing) missions for changes or breakage. I suspect that would be way too hardware-intensive to be practical.

As for your first suggestion, I like it but only if it allows for that opt-in/out functionality you mentioned so puzzle missions will still work. It is rather frustrating when you're enjoying a mission and suddenly the "next" link doesn't work.

What we are doing so far is monitoring all the missions that people don't finish. That way we keep a list of missions that appear to broken. So far that's all we have the resources (engineers, not cycles) to manage, but I wanted you to know that we are watching what missions can finish and which ones can't.

Cool. Thanks for the reply. The only problem I see in that case is for people who work on networks with filtering systems. For example, I work on school computers at a university and some pages that contain downloads, torrents, etc. don't work so I can't finish some missions that other people can. I suggested the optional "skip button" so I could jump over these pages and finish the mission.
