While reading the "let's suggest new tools" thread (http://pmog.com/forums/gameplay/..., I thought: "This is great - but shouldn't we get some basics first?" So here are some basic testing, debugging, and maintenance tools I would much rather see than any new weapon: 1) A list of all my lightposts, portals, chests and mines, the URL of where they are, and the option to shut them off / delete them. I have a ton of broken lightposts I would love to get rid off. 2) A "draft" mode for mission building, which lets me test the mission in quiet before publishing it. This could be expanded to "beta" mode, where I can invite other pmoggers to test the mission. 3) A "mission control center", like a dashboard listing all the missions I've built, their ratings, number of players who have taken them, and functionality to quickly change or delete them. What do you think - do you agree? Anything on your "basics" wish list? |

Agree completely, this is more useful than all that other stuff in the "zomng New ITEMS"-thread. |

Oooo! Mission control center! (Anyone else watch the Space Shuttle go up last night?)

I love these suggestions. I'd much rather see the developers focus on unbugging current functionality, and then extend it, before adding new elements to the game. How can you know if the game is working until it's working? |

I can't wait for the mission categories to be implemented. I'd like it if only PMOG devs could post lightposts on main PMOG pages. Other than that I agree whole-heartedly with the posts so far calling for some kind of centralized, dashboard-style interface. Especially lists of active tools. |

Snocrsh, I love your avatar, by the way. It brings a smile every time I see it. Ahem. Anyway, I concur that it would be great to be able to test the missions before launching them publicly. It may not be easy for shoats to find other people willing to take their fledgling missions, so to require a certain number of people to take them before publishing them may really deter some of our creative newbies (having been one myself, oh, just a few days ago). But having an alpha (putting it together on the mission generator page), beta (testing it yourself--required--and possibly by inviting others to test it), and final release stages of missions would be awesome. |

A forum for each association might be good to have at some point, too. Although we Benefactors pretty much already have one - Trading. ;-) |

Posted elsewhere, but thanks to Lord-Yo, I'm consolidating it here: I think it would be nice to have another couple filters on the missions page for missions created by acquaintances, and missions taken by acquaintances. These may already be in the works, since it looks like the Missions page is going through some changes as we speak. Also, I'd like to have a mission to do list. I often see three missions on the page that seem interesting, I click one, work calls me away and the next day when I come back the mission isn't on the first page any more and I don't really remember what it was about, only that it seemed interesting. So I'd like to have PMOG cover for my mental deficiencies by having a way to save these missions for later. |

I just noticed that about 1 day ago Superman and Aquaman signed up within minutes of each other. Yet these two venerable superheroes have earned 0 DP each. Is somebody out there "inviting" ghosts, signing up bogus people, and getting 200 DP (or whatever) for this? There ought to be some sort of threshold, like you get credit for your invitees after they have earned so many DPs of their own. Just a thought. |

@86400: (cool nick name btw) - I agree with the functionality to store a missions to do list; could also be something like "missions started". What also would be nice is the possibility to give lightposts names (at least for mission-building purposes); in my HDR mission, I had so much trouble figuiring out which lightpost was which. And while we're at it - the lightpost links during mission-building should be clickable, but they aren't because of the drag&drop functionality. |

Another one: If there are several portals (or missions) that overlap on the same page, it'd be nice to see them all somehow. Obviously, it could really clutter up the screen if done wrong, but that'd really all we'd need to have free form choose your own adventure style web crawls using portals. |

@86400 That would be pretty easy, because they could show up as small, expandable notifications that simply display the title and creator. Also, I'd like it if we could remove tags. |

These are all great ideas, Lord-Yo. Now that I've begun creating missions I would find a lightpost manager particularly useful. Especially since I can't make notes easily copy/paste them into a window from the menu to double check what they are. Mission control center; briliant! |
