Judging by my own habits, I would imagine that many users peruse the Internetz looking for valuable gems and nuggets of information to store for later. And arguably a majority of my time spent on PMOG has been searching for crates of loot and discovering interesting sites along the way. Thus, I think that a treasure hunter, pirate, or (more steampunkish) corsair association would be a neat equivalent to the Benefactor. Perhaps locked crates or the ability to pick such locks would be interesting. Just a thought. Anyway, I'm having a blast and learning quite a lot, so thanks, PMOG! |

It seems like a pretty simple implementation as well. Users could include the lock as one of their 10 total tools in a crate, and specify a user, who would then receive a key (in essence). So for five different locks in a crate, plus a cache of five or less items, five different users will have keyed access, while some sort of thief/locksmith could use another tool to pick it. Hmmm.... |

True, leaving a crate locked *for someone* may not be the most passive way of playing, but requiring PMOGgers to use a tool such as a lockpick to open locked crates would probably prevent others from endlessly watching the Events list for a "crate stash" notification, which isn't very passive either. Now, actively hunting for crates has no downside, as nothing besides time is required from the player. |

Or, for example, maybe you could lock a crate for allies, acquaintances, non-rivals, or players on the same side (Order/Chaos). Tough decision though, as sometimes simplicity is more appealing. |
