It seems that many people would like to be vigilantes, but it requires going and finding mines in the first place. It's similar to the Bedouin, who require the presence of mines to use his/her armor. Could it be possible to create a secondary way to become a vigilante/bedouin? Does anyone have any suggestions (for the mods, of which I am NOT one) for a secondary way to be a vigilante or bedouin? Thanks! |

You could watch the feed & see who is setting lots of mines, then go apply a St. Nick. From the codex:
Gift people armour. You shouldn't have to plow through minefields to gain an association. |

Work with the already existing Vigilantes and Bedouins to create more missions in those specialities. |

I think what evil-jim is getting at is that you don't need a mine to apply a St. Nick, just go to someone's profile (assuming it's not private) and there's an option near the top to use a St. Nick on them =) |

Okay, another question: does attaching a st nick to someone leave a signature? Will they know it was me? Or is it anonymous? |

It's not anonymous, it tells you who St Nicked you when you plant a mine, try it, I just St Nicked you once =) Bear in mind that some people may have more St Nicks than you do, or mines even =P |

Mind you, it does seem like the whole vigilante association is kind of bugged...A lot of people have planted over 250 StNicks, done all vigilante missions, and are still not there. At that point, there is only so much else you can do. |

Not just Vigilante, I think all associations are affected, there are an aweful lot of Shoats at level 3+ |

There are actually 5th level Shoats as well now; and apparently reaching the 5th level has done nothing to curb their Shoppe privileges. Which, well, sucks for those of us who have reached those limitations. But, judicious use of allies means that you should never lack for Tools that you cannon legally buy. But, at the same time, there were valid concerns that Shoats would be cut off entirely from the Shoppe at level 5--since they didn't have associations. |
