All of a sudden I am catapulted up to level six...which I thought was cool. Until I tried to reload on my St. Nicks. Now I am told that I can't buy them because of some strange arbitrary association. Now, I have done 17 St. Nick interdictions, which is second only to portals I have made, however, it seems that Vigilante does not make my association list. Why? and How do I change it? St. Nicks were most of the fun of this game. |

Take vigilante missions... forum search would've been useful here as there are about 6,000 topics on this. |

First, thanks for the tip...as soon as teh RC 3 bugs are routed and I can take missions again, I will do so. Secondly,
Thirdly -- Just from reading the Codex, which should be where one would seek out answers, it indicates that associations are done by tool use, and St. Nicks beat out armor and light posts, yet no vigilante. |

I'll elaborate just a tad: tool use does affect your association, but missions affect it far more. I bet if you used 50 Nicks and no mines but took 2 destroyer missions, you'd be ranked higher for destroyer than vigilante. |

I bet if you used 50 Nicks and no mines but took 2 destroyer missions, you'd be ranked higher for destroyer than vigilante. I bet that you'd get more credit if all those Nicks were set off...let's say, hypothetically, that you get one classpoint for each Tool, and 10 for each mission...if all those Nicks foiled mines, you'd get 50 Vigilante classpoints, but only 20 Destroyer cps for taking the missions...

Capstinence - Thank you. When I started looking through the codex, Associations didn't really seem to explain much, but tools talked about the particular clan that use them. I don't recall finding anything about missions. And yes, Forums are useful at times, but they are such a pain to deal with. Many of the early forums had no subscribe or e-mail notification and it made it had to keep up, which sat poorly with me. And trying to keep up with everything is neigh impossible. I just don't have the time to keep checking forum threads. E-mail groups will always be my favorite, but a forum with a good e-notice is a good second (Like this one) Orangerineman, I think I am understanding. Pixielo (nice gun, btw) - My rating tool use says 17 interventions with St. Nick, and you can ask my rival if I am not always ruining his mines. But I get it. Seek out Vigilantes and take their missions. Most thanks, all. |

So basically, I just got to wait for PMOG or Firefox to catch up with one another so I can take missions again. (Or a safari plug-in) |

PMOG is slow again today. On these kinds of days I refer to it as "MolassesMOG." |

Well, it seems that the calcutions were fixed or 18 St. Nick interventions was the Threshold that put me over the edge. Since yesterday, Viglilette has jumped into my second place slot, and I am happily playing with my St. Nicks again. Thank you all. |

Also just for reference your association is based on recent activity, not lifetime activity. So I make 5 missions in a day and I am a pathmaker for a few days, but then it falls off because that activity is not longer recent. I am not sure though what PMOG's definition of recent is though. For me, if I load up on like 5 missions all the same association, all on the same day, and do nothing else, I am that association the next day. And remain that for a few days at least. I think you can change your association based on tool use, it just takes a huge amount of tool use. And nicks and mines are the hardest. As nicks only count once they intervene and mines only count if they are tripped as opposed to foiled. Not being able to take missions suck, so at this point really, find a vigilante you trust and get them to buy the nicks and leave them in crates for you. (of course after a few crates this will make them a benefactor... *sigh*) *this also makes me think maybe there should be a warning system about level changes, and give us like 24 hours before it goes into effect. So we can stockpile. :)* |
