Hey Guys, I just started using PMOG and am enjoying it quite a bit, its a nice relaxed game however I was wondering. Why would anyone want to take off their armor at all?

Thanks,
mattnham :)

I don't, but I'm only level two. There might be some strategical reason to. If there is, I don't know it.

However, if I remember right, when your armor deflects a mine, it's turned off. So you need to remember to turn it back on or you're loosing DP.

Again, that's all if I can remember right. Wait! I can step on my own mine.... Never mind. Got a bug. Oh well. That's what I remember.

@ bugbrain_04 I've hit two mines within the past 10 minutes & my armour remained on & strong throughout the whole ordeal. I thought it was the same for others.

If you want to test your theory you can deliberately detonate some mines. PMOG user sagard has left plenty today according to the feed. (note the age of my comment, this link will change with time.)

Armour is good for 5 mines worth of damage before it needs to be replaced.

But does that justify why someone would turn theirs off?

No it doesn't--I have no idea why someone would turn their armour off at all--unless they would like to feel properly justified in St. Nicking the miner.

I turn the armour off after I have spent all my money... why waste it when I have nothing to lose by getting hit?

Heh. I'm just a newbie, dripping through the remains of the stuff I got when I started. So yeah, give me a day and I'll be dutifully forking out the DP too. :/

When there was the Massive Mine Incident and I received more than 100 mines on my profile, I just crated up my dp, stashed it on my messages page, turned off my armour and madly reloaded my profile to rid it of mines.
Annoying? Yes.
Waste of dp? Nope.
Waste of armour? Nope.
Having Suttree magically rid my page of mines? Priceless.

I just used this trick when @awesome dropped 10 or so mines on my profile. Thanks for the tip @pixielo!

The downside is, I now appear to be a benefactor again, despite being the recipient of my own crate.

That would mean you can easily become a benefactor by crating your thing to yourselves over and over, right?
