well I had v. .407 and I tried to update using firefox's updater to .408 but it didn't detect any updates, so i decided to uninstall .407 and just install the whole toolbar again, turns out it gives me this message when I try to install:

Firefox could not install the file at

http://pmog.com/firefox/pmog.xpi

because: Not a valid install package
-207

any help?

The best way to install a new upgrade of the toolbar is to go to Tools/Extensions, scroll down through until you find the pmog extension, and hit uninstall. Reboot Firefox.

Then, come back to pmog, and install the new toolbar. Reboot Firefox again. At that point, you should be good to go.

(I got the error when I tried to install the new one over the old one.)

I just signed up and tried to download the extension, but every time I try, I get the same error message as juxe.

Is there another place to get the extension from that might work?

hey lonewolfnz, can you help us help you:
at the top of firefox, all the way to the left, click on "Help"
then click "About Mozilla Firefox"
please type out the version of Firefox you are using?

most likely it will be 2.0.0.12. but i am just trying to rule out other possibilities.

~HattZ

edit: logging off 3:15 (-8 gmt) i'll try and post some ideas to try if you can provide, operating system, and version of firefox.

Using 3 beta 3, latest version of Windows XP, will try with version 2 soon and see what happens. I hope when I do that, beta 3 will update from the version 2 addon list and fix things.

Ok, did as I said in above post and fixed it. I should have guessed the beta of Firefox might cause issues. It is still a little buggy on the beta version, but still usable.

Ok, I also believe what causes some of the problems is some of us who play games like World of Warcraft use a program, or manually edit our system registry to disable Nagels algorithm... which is known to help speed up online games. The problem however is it can break other general web browsing. Just something to keep in mind, is to disable it when trying to update. If you have no idea what I am talking about, then it is most likely you do not use it :-)

Hi, I'm also getting that error message. I'm using Firefox version 2.0.0.12 and am new to Pmog, so don't have to uninstall the old version. Any ideas?

second, inncognito, what operating system are you running, can you close firefox, and restart it for me, then try installing the toolbar?
