Very weird. I have the toolbar (latest version 0.420). I get a quest popup and 'take' quest reloads the same page with the same 'you found a quest' box. Queue just has the loading bar sit there also. I tried disabling every single other addon and reinstalling the toolbar but nothing seems to work. Any ideas? |

Oh, and if I go to mission central and 'take mission' again I get the 'first' page in the mission with the 'youve found a mission, take, queue, dismiss' options. Also I usually run through a proxy server on this machine which blocks some cookies and stuff but I disabled it and connected directly to see if that was the problem but it wasn't. |

*sigh* not with it today. I'm running Firefox 3.0.1, which is the current one in the Ubuntu Repos, on Ubuntu 8.04 (latest one again). So everything is (in theory) all up to date. |

Thanks Xoke, I've passed this on to the code ninjas, and a solution should be found and implemented quite soon.

Just for... well no real reason but personal curiosity I made a new firefox profile and installed the PMOG extension there and... it works! So I'm going to try playing around with the original profile (I'll keep the files in case that helps). Of course most people probably don't enjoy digging around files so please keep the ninjas working on it. If they want any files let me know :) |

OK that didn't work. I backed up and removed the PMOG extension directory and the PMOG SQLite file in the firefox directory (well .mozilla\firefox directory) after uninstalling the extension and exiting firefox. Restarted firefox, reinstalled toolbar and restarted again and it remembers who I am and I'm still getting the same problem. So where is it storing my login details? My gut feel says that is where the problem is located. |

PMOG toolbar -> Forget all settings / login details. Wiped everything, restarted (like it asked) and logged back in and it didn't fix it. So much for that idea :P |

Hi xoke, I'm pretty sure it's related to your session and login, as you suggested - would it be possible to try clearing out you cookies for the profile that doesn't work? If that doesn't work, go into the Firefox preferences, over to the security tab and hit 'saved passwords'. Delete any pmog related ones in there and try again. Good luck! |

suttree, Deleted all cookies / passwords that matched 'pmog' (which cookies were quite a few others on different sites also). Did not restart firefox but logged in via toolbar again and... I'm still having the problem :( One other odd thing, it keeps nagging me to 'update the toolbar' however on the 'about upgrade' page (http://pmog.com/help/toolbar) it says I have the latest version and the version numbers match! |

Hmmm... removing cookies / pmog toolbar / passwords and restarting and removing a few pmog files.. well it didn't seem to work. Maybe next I'll copy files from one firefox profile directory into the other and see what happens :P |

Yeah, that update message on the site will nag you until you dismiss it. It's an odd problem to fix, this one. I can see the errors from here, and I know the cause of them, but I'm not sure what to change on your end. If you don't mind copying those profile files across, that'd be a great help! |

deleted the files in my 'pmog' profile (I'll call it that) and copied over the 'new' profile files (everything, cache included). It works. Now to copy files back across from the copy I took of the pmog profile to see when (if?) it breaks. Hope that will explain which file / dir it occured on :) |

I'm gonna be making a ton of posts here at this rate. OK extensions copied over (every single one including overwriting the PMOG dir) and it still works! |
xoke![]() Level 9 Posts: 16 |
OK every single subdir copied back over... and it still works... go figure. So working through the firefox directory to try to figure it out! |

Aha! prefs.js is the culprit! Unfortunately it hold all my preferences to I lose lots of nice information. But simply overwriting that file with a new profile prefs.js fixes the problem! |
xoke![]() Level 9 Posts: 16 |
Copy the contents of that file back in breaks it again. Now to remove the PMOG stuff and see if that helps! |
xoke![]() Level 9 Posts: 16 |
Oddly enough that had no effect... oh well, on to the next one! |
