Looks like opening multiple tabs on PMOG is doomed to burn your CPU on Debian/GNU/Linux with Firefox 2. FF starts eating CPU like crazy. I killed it before I had a chance to know if it goes on looping, but I guess it does.

I am using Firefox 2 with Windows but the same problem occurred to me too.
Firefox is taking up a constant 50% CPU usage, even when I am leaving Firefox idle. I have no choice but to disable PMOG at the moment.

I have checked the forum and it might due to conflicting addons with PMOG.
You might wanna disable all your Firefox addons except PMOG, to see if the situation continues.
If PMOG is clean, then re-enable other addons one by one, to find out which is the conflicting one.

But to me, it's just too time consuming. And I have gone through my addon list, they are like essential to me than PMOG.
I mean I really like PMOG and all this "passive RPG" idea. However I'd rather wait for future updates to solve the problem, than putting my CPU on the line.

Yeah, luckily for me I disabled some extensions I wasn't using anyway and it worked again, but I don't think I would, for example, be willing to do without Web Developer. :-)

Good to hear that. May I know which extensions did you disable to make it work?
I've disabled a few too, and the CONSTANT 50% of CPU usage is gone. But then it's still CONSTANTLY fluctuating between 0 to 30% even when FF is idle... and significantly slows down my system as well. sigh...

I've got PMOG disabled at the moment because my FF kept keeling over. It rarely logs me in at the moment, anyhow.

I also note that the latest upgrade to gmail isn't helping either :)

I find that if I open several tabs at once, the CPU usage spikes for a while. However, normal surfing doesn't seem to have the same issues.

I took a quick look at the socket connections for each tab, for every tab opened in firefox, PMOG makes a new connection to the 'mothership'. I'll do some testing with the plugin turned off to see the difference.
