I hate to report this "bug" or rather "feature request" but...

currently, html tags work unabated in user profiel TAGs, Portal descriptions, and everywhere else that is fun.

I took it to the max and went around "FLAMINGO'ing" people... such as these people:
http://pmog.com/users/personjerry
http://pmog.com/users/pixielo
http://pmog.com/users/voltamancer
http://pmog.com/users/mayfaire
(at the time of this post)

So anyways... as you can see, it may be something worth inhibiting.

Possibly with removing certain tags, but more likely, maybe just limiting the stretch-ability of the sections.

Maybe make the tags section non-scrolling, a set width/height, etc...

I agree. Html should be limited in a way that can't be used to vandalise PMOG pages or game tools.

lol yea... that was me, I'll own up to it, whatever the cost.

I thought it was hilarious.

BUUUT... thinking of the higher good, I figured I should bring this to the attention of those watching in a more expedient manner...

I don't mind the little "CHAOS" or user avatar tags... that's sort of a "marking of territory" type thing, and does no harm. That is why I would rather see a size limit rather than abolishment...

...but I understand if the masters have to abolish it as the only choice. I don't know many forums that get to a certain popularity and still allow such things that are easily exploitable in bad ways.

Yeah, I noticed it when I tried to send a message explaining how to use html to someone, and it displayed a humongous image instead of the example I was trying to show. It's kind of a funny glitch now but I have a feeling that eventually someone will take this too far and run with it.

Size limits only! Anything yucky should be considered abuse and reported like anything else.

Aye, I just want a size limit as well, so that I can figure out that there is an image present before scrolling down at work or something.

See, here's the thing. Image codes in tags are fine because they can be deleted. However, if someone posts a NSFW image or something in a crate/message you don't have a choice before it's already opened. There's no way to report stuff like that short of taking a screen shot and sending it to a trustee, and if it was a tag that was the offender you have no way of knowing who put it there.

Aye carumba!

This will be fixed shortly. Thanks for reporting it @nieman - one thing, though. As Zous will attest, I'm a much happier trustee when people report these problems to me before making them public.

If you give us a chance to fix things, we can do it without affecting other users :)

Sorry, captain!

I came across it from the Chaos image tags that had been spread around (and innocently as well) although yea... mine was very much specifically exploitatious (if that's a word...) so I'll refrain from succumbing to temptation next time :P

A fix has been pushed to live. You should not be seeing images in your tags anymore.

I agree-- it really adds a new dimension to the game, being able to include images and stuff. You could almost make like a signature for your crates and stuff. Obviously it's easy to abuse, and a limit would be absolutely necessary, but it would be cool in the future!
