I attempted creating my first mission today. I was able to get through creating all the lightposts and description. Then on step three I was reading through my first lightpost and I found a typing error. I went back to fix it, saved it then went back on to step three to review and I noticed that my correction was not saved.

I went back to the second step and sure enough the error was not fixed. I fixed it again and went to step three, but still the mistake was there. I decided to press on and review the rest of the lightposts so I clicked next. It did give me my next URL but the description was from my first lightpost and not from my second. Upon clicking next the lightposts change correctly but the description for each of them stays consistently on the first incorrect one.

I restarted my browser and repeated the whole process with the same results.

I am using FF2 on a Mac using OSX.

Wait. Be patient. That's it.
An hour is good, your changes may be visible in 30 minutes, but I find an hour is better.
The Pmog servers cache data a bit slow. Your change has taken. Don't Panic.

Oh thanks. I wondered after I posted if that might be it. Thanks for the clarification. I will post an edit if I still have problems.

Well it is now a day later and my edits seem to have stuck but still I can not get past the first lightpost description (which shows on the first and second lightpost URLs) and not past the second lightpost URL. When I click next the description simply refreshes as does the page.

What version of Firefox are you using?
Which OS?
What extensions are you running?

I am using FF 2.0.0.14 on a Mac using OSX. Pmog is the only extension I am running.

@Caylin,

I just accessed your account and played around with the mission. The problem clearly is that PMOG is having trouble differentiating between the website digitaldreaming.org (I think that was it) and seattle.digitaldreaming.org.

Additionally, when you get into testing you will see the third lightpost is broken.

Some of the more avid mission makers might have a suggestion for you as to what to do. Perhaps you can use a Tiny URL or a portal to take users to the next lightpost.

Pixielo, any suggestions?

This is one of the gnarlier problems, for sure. I would recommend using a Portal to hit the next lightpost--the only problem I see with that is the Portal rating.
Leaving a Portal to the page that 'breaks', and just skipping it in your mission--not putting a Lightpost on it at all--is probably the best plan--a little disappointing, I know.

The pages look solid--no frames, no Flash--so it's an odd problem that Pmog doesn't 'like' them at all.

It probably won't help for this problem, but perhaps to avoid some of the other pitfalls of mission generation:

Hmm, i'm having similar problems in generating a mission right now.
Firefox 2.0.0.14 on WinXP SP 3 (uh - didn't even know i already had that one... ;) )

I've been running through my mission for at least a dozen times, including restarting firefox and my computer, for half an hour now.
The mission just "completes" where it wants, not at the last lightpost. I will wait till tomorrow if it works smoothly then, if not, i will start whining around here a bit, okay? ;)

@holzonkel,

I can look at the mission if you want. I have some extra tools that normally reset the lightpost ordering problem, which sounds like what you're describing.

I'd really appreciate that... but i could also completely redo the mission. So, if you want to have a look at it due to whatever kind of bug report, it's okay, but you don't have to. :)

So I am having an issue with this... sorta?

I am trying to update LM. I want to add new sections but not until the old ones work properly again (and are in proper order). It is doing the complete mission too early thing. Also it doesn't record changes I made.

I have ff 2.0.0.14, windows xp, pmog .416.

Also I don't mind waiting for the changes to take place, but when I make the changes the mission disappears from my "missions generated" list and I can't get back to it (without hitting the back button).

Also does anyone have an estimated time on how long it takes the servers to catch up when a link has been relocated? (it seems to be about an hour and a half for me... :P)

I am really having issues with getting to the last page and it says "Something went wrong Sorry!" :(

Update: It finally went through. And is it just me or is it weird when I edit a mission made before the patch that fixed them that it essentially makes me re-make the mission... ???? It even posts it as a "new" mission.

Btw., you don't need to fix my mission anymore. Deleted the bug-ridden one and remade it from the scratch. Works just fine now. :)
