Do you have the Toolbar installed?
If so, are you having extension conflicts?
~~~
You should be able to see the orange pop-up in the lower right hand corner...see that and click 'next'...
Yes the toolbar is installed. Java is enabled, I'm not sure how to check about other extension conflicts. I've tried again and it sometimes work, i.e. I see the pop-up but then when I continue on I don't see one on the next page. I'll keep fiddling. Thanks for the reply!
You check extension conflicts by disabling everything except for Pmog...
And then re-enabling them until Pmog breaks...then you have your culprit...it's not rocket science, it's trial-and-error.
All fixed!
It was a problem with the older firefox. A quick download of a newer version fixed the problem. :)
thanks for all the help!
These problems can occur because the game server is having problems for one reason or another. I had a great period the other day, about 8 hours with no problems. But before that and after that nothing was working. :\
I'm having a similar problem where sometimes the lightposts don't appear at all. Other times, the lightpost appears and disappears before I can do anything. It is happening on a mission I am trying to create. Any ideas?
You shouldn't really 'see' lightposts while creating a mission...I actually find that deploying them while browsing is the least efficient way to make a mission.
Try just keeping the posts in a text editor, and then just plug them into the blank 'add lightpost' here field...
It's much easier to do it that way!
Actually, to be specific. All my lightposts link to the correct sites in the creation phase. I am in the "test mission" phase and on this screen, some of the lightposts are not showing up. I have this problem sometimes when I am taking others missions. The only extras I have on FF is pmog addon. any ideas!
Apparently some lightposts that are on sites with many international re-routes, like Amazon, Google, MSN, etc. will actually migrate...
This sucks, and it is problem, and I do believe that it is being looked at as we speak...
Could this have happened to your mission? Your lightpost gone international?
Actually, I'm not sure and not really sure how to tell. Most of my sites are .gov sites. What is wierd is sometimes they show up and disappear before the entire site is loaded. Is there a way to change the URL after the lightpost is created? Or if you delete the lightpost, do you get credited back or do you have to buy new? I'm a noob, can you tell? lol
Once a lightpost is deployed, it is gone for good. No replacements for mistakes, URL goofs or site updates, etc. I tend to check my missions for breakage due to site content updating once every few weeks...
~~
If they are *.gov pages, then they are U.S.-based and shouldn't 'wander' per se...
Perhaps your problem is listed here?
Does anyone here use the NoScript addon for Firefox? I do and that caused a major glitch in the completion of most missions. I did find a partial fix that made most missions work. Once I set NoScript to allow everything...missions work perfectly.
Yes, it is totally necessary to allow the last page of a mission if you are using NoScript...
ok so I haven't been able to see any light posts in days - no hence no missions, no fun and getting tired of the game... Not being computer savvy I really don't know how to do what pixielo suggested a while back namely "check extension conflicts by disabling everything except for Pmog..." can someone tell me how to do that? thx.
Sure...how did you get the add-ons in the first place?
; )
Tools>Add-ons...and then look at the list of extensions, and hit the 'disable' keys...restart and see if Pmog works.
Easy!
I'm really not sure how I got the add-ons in the first place, its probably one of those things that I knew at one point but due to the limited storage capacity of my brain, simply forgot..or someone helped me....I obviously have no shame when it comes to asking for help!....;-)
