Some people get an association 2 hours in, whilst the rest of us have to work for days. Its weird, seemingly random, and doesn't seem to work. I've done the viginlante missions about 10 times each, and layed loads of St. Nicks, and yet I'm getting nowhere, and nor is anybody else judging by the amount of vigilante missions.

Okay, shameless bump coupled with a question: How do missions help your association? Does doing a mission more than once help? Does doing shoat missions in fact impede your progress?
If so, how the hell is anybody ever meant to get vigilante? Thousands of St. Nicks?

Well, I just recently got the Little Sister badge... I would think that would get it. I've been told that what you're doing should be more than enough to enter an association.

Also, If they were to move up the requirements for joining associations, I would be cool with that. It's just harder to deal with knowing you should be there and not being.

It would be really nice if I could know whether I'm actually making any progress...I know I've used at least 100 Nicks, if not more, and done all the missions. I just want to make sure I'm getting somewhere.
Also, if using items gets you faction affiliation, do some items give you more than others? Surely becoming a seer would be hard, with 75 DP portals?

It'd be nice to have some sort of feedback on the number of mines / st nicks / portals etc you have used so far.
Thinking about it, the data is probably all there, you could do something like list the top most mined sites over the last week and other interesting stats. They could be updated nightly so that your DB doesn't take too much of a kicking =)

Or weekly. It would just be nice to know the official way of progressing towards an association. The fact that some people have the little sister badge, have done all the missions, and yet aren't affiliated, whilst Mikey is at level 1, makes it all kind of confusing.

If I could give you my association I would, I feel kinda sheepish that I got it so easy, but I can't, so =P

The bugs'll all get ironed out eventually I guess

Lol, its hardly your fault:P If anything, congrats for you on managing it.
Without an official method of gaining faction affiliation though, I'm finding it hard to get anywhere...I don't do shoat missions anymore, because its possible the might actually damage faction affiliations, and without them, its damn hard to make cash.

It's a bit cowboy, but maybe one of the devs could knock up a script to scour peoples' data and manually give them the associations that they should have if they are still Shoat? Can't be too hard, gimmie your DB schema and I'll make the script =)

It seems like quite a few people are getting demoralised by not being able to get an association

Maybe if you are doing to even a spread of missions/etc then the alg can't work out which way you fall?

I've been doing nearly nothing but vigilante missions and dropping St. Nicks for a while now. Nothing.

I reackon it takes 1-2 weeks to give it to you. You're all less than a week whereas Mikey is above 1 week, ya see.

I am over a week as well, and have been making a concentrated effort to become a Pathmaker the whole time. I have taken all of the pathmaker missions at least once (except for the few that seem broken), and making missions and dropping Lightposts like mad- I have even earned the Illuminati badge for 500 Lightposts... surely that must be enough for an association to form?

Growing pains, I suppose, and I am sure it will work out in the end, but mikey is right, it is a little demoralizing, and I fear others in the same boat are avoiding my missions because of their Shoat status, which is a drag...

Could anyone with any actual knowledge of how the associations work step in please? Mods? (Actually, I'm not sure if that is what they're called in this game.) I just want to know if this is a bug or not. If I'm doing something wrong, I could figure out how to fix it, but if this is a bug, I could relax... ME SO CONFUSED!

I think it's weird that missions move between assoc's depending on the maker's assoc. (as that's what I've been lead to believe).

Means that potentially there will be waves of people in certain assocs as the game progresses, and dips in other assocs as they disappear.

I wondered to myself last night devs, am I still a shoat because too many of the missions I've taken are shoat missions? Does it work like that?
