Tried to use a lightpost that I put up earlier on Wikipedia in one of my missions, and was confused as to why it was failing. I figured it out. When the lightpost was put down, the system was thinking the light post was on:
Even thought it was really on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-M... So, when I was taken to the latter page, the page still loaded, but no mission pop-up appeared. Need to get the lightpost system re-done so it doesn't do that... obviously... lol. |

It's because of Wikipedia's dual interpretation of symbols as both Unicode and standard. i.e., the system thinks %28 is (, and ( is (, but PMOG recognizes them both as separate addresses. Dunno how this could be fixed. Maybe dual interpretation for PMOG's system as well? *shrugs* It is a big glitch though, considering how valuable a resource Wikipedia is to the Net (and thereby the PMOG) community. |

Ae! I use wikipedia almost religiously during my own missions. They are good for summary texts. |

To avoid wasted lightposts (I've wasted like 2 dozen at this point,) I just keep the links I want bookmarked, or to use an even more old-school method, just pasted into a word processing program. This way I don't waste a lightpost, and I can leave a little note to myself as WHY I wanted it in the first place.
Note: For the wiki entrys--I just 'fix' the addresses that contain the % vs. ) problem.

Yeah, I've adopted pixielo's approach as well. I've got a bunch of pointless lightposts right now...anyway to get rid of those? |
