Hi, since installing the PMOG toolbar into Firefox (2.0.0.14), the memory usage of Firefox has leapt up. I first noticed it yesterday, after a full day of browsing, the memory footprint of firefox was over 1 Gb. I monitored a bit more closely today, and over two hours, firefox memory footprint climbed from 350Mb to 650Mb (!!). I know that this version of firefox has some memory leakage issues of its own, but this still seems extreme. Any comments? |

OS X or Windows?
However, there are some other issues that exist with PMOG that are due to unnecessary code loops that have yet to be fixed. |

Windows XP - sorry, should have said. |

Yeah...apparently this is common for a lot of people...and FF 3b5 fixes it... However, Pmog doesn't always play nicely yet with FF 3b5... |

So, damned if I do, and damned if I don't... I don't like either alternative - how about fixing the memory leak? |

aoterra, I created a thread a few weeks ago that detailed some of the memory leak causes and potential fixes. We'll see if it comes around or not. They are going to have to do some fairly major recoding to fix some of them . . . |

Maztec, thanks for the reply. I appreciate your taking the time. If the fault is not fixed, I will have to stop playing, as the memory leak is making my browsing (and general computer usage) experience pretty lousy. I suspect that I won't be the only one either - which isn't a good thing for a newly launched concept... |

I just shut off and restart Firefox every now and again ... seems to work alright as an interim measure until the leak is plugged. |

If you go to Tools > Options > Content and then uncheck, 'Load Images Automatically,' you may see an improvement.
