Is it just me, or does anyone else here thank its not right that you can trip your own mines? What if I want to mine a site I frequent and not kill myself?

i'm a little confused by it

I accidently tripped one of my own mines, but then when I went to the other website I placed a mine, it didn't trip.

If one of the non-noobs could tell me why one tripped and the other didn't, i'd like to know

Indeed, it seems like if you place a mine, you should know like where it is and whatnot so it doesn't go off on you -- or at least after you become not a Shoat and have Destroyer as one of your alliances.

And elshizzo, it's probably because someone else had already tripped your other mine.

I don't think it's a problem that you can trip your own mines... it adds a little bit of depth to the game.

I don't have a problem with that part, but how am I supposed to know when it is safe to visit that page again?

Do you get a message in your feed when someone trips one of your mines? Either way, I think it's funny when someone trips their own mine... I've done it

So are mines only placed on the main page of a web site? or is it the exact url that you are currently viewing?

These aren't "smart mines" they explode on anything near them like a normal mine is. It's up to you to keep track of where you put them, and like real mines, they don't just send you a message when they go off. Laying mines is risky, but very fun.

I end up tripping my mines all the time; for that matter, I trip the mines of others as well, I just like to use armour!

Ditto. Running across a mine by accident is a funny surprise. Tripping a mine on purpose is just plain fun.

I think it is just an ironing out the game issue. I really do hope tripping your own mines will be fixeded some day.

Selective mines would be even cool, as in mines that target factions.

I still like that mines don't discriminate--just like the ones in real life...

But if you laid one in real life you would atleast be able to see when it was safe again, aka a giant crater.

If you go back to pages you mine then I guess you need to keep a good supply of armor. I have never set a mine but if I did it would be on a page I had no intention of visiting again, kind of a 'I don't like this page so I'm trying to splode it' type of thing.

I like the fact that you can trip your own mines. Mines are a chaotic tool, what could be more chaotic than mining yourself?

*shrug* not worth the effort anyway. I just needed to make pointless commentary.
