The Google Web Comments add-on breaks the pop-ups from PMOG. I imagine there will be other plugins that don't play nice, so perhaps this can serve as a central place to list them all. |

Ah, thank you akraut! When you say breaks the pop-ups, do they just not appear or do they appear garbled, for example? |

I mean that they don't appear at all. There are some other plugins that seem to allow mission popups, but not popups when I deploy tools. I'm still trying to iron out exactly which are causing that. (For example, I can take a mission just fine, but deploying a lightpost does not pop up the thing that says "you lit a lamp post".) |

I had a problem with the FireBug add on which looked like it might have been disrupting HTTP requests. For example, when I would start a mission it was fine, read the first page, great. Then, randomly as I progressed I would sometimes get the pop-up for discovery of the mission I had already started. I wouldn't get the correct prompt to move to the next link in the mission strand and I would have to start over. However, it's been fine and dandy since I disabled it. |

Okay - thanks - this is a great topic, thank you. I heard from user @techcrunch this weekend that http://gears.google.com/ Google Gears also gives PMOG a tough time. So much to test! |

Turning both Gears and Firebug off does seem to make a significant improvement. But I'm beginning to think the approach to the popups could be better. Both Google Notebook and the ForecastFox plugins have a different method of opening their popups that allows them to go on top of toolbars. Notebook, at least, is still just displaying HTML within their popup. Maybe that approach would solve this problem and the interference from the site's CSS. |

Okay, I have some hard evidence here... Was using an old version of the Delicious plug-in (1.2.1) last night that definitely caused the disruptions as I explained above. I was bookmarking sites of interest... Everything went well after I upgraded to 1.5.44 (latest). Finally, social browsing with personal breadcrumbs, it's all so beautiful now :-) |
