When I see a portal at home, it always has the firefox puzzle piece below it saying I need an additional plugin. The portal works fine, it is just a bit annoying. When I click the puzzle and get it to search for a plugin, it says unknown plugin and cannot install anything. |

As the first reply, I'll ask the ceremonial debugging question:

Also when it tries to search it says: Unknown Plugin(Application/Octet-Stream) |

This is possibly due to PMOG not knowing which media player to choose to play the sound associated with the portal, Best thing to do is click the P on the far left of toolbar, choose "preferences" then "in game preferences" and disable sounds, that should hook you up. If not reply here and I will look at it further. Regards Craig |

The sound being disabled did work, but is there another way to fix it? I kinda like the sounds :) |

Glad I sort of helped. There is a way to do it but I am not 100% sure on the solution. I think your issue is you have either Multiple or Zero media players designed to play websounds. I will take a guess at it here. Whichever media player you use for playing sound, check the preferences for that player and make sure it is the default for the sounds PMOG plays on the web. I dont know what they are as I have them disabled, but I will find out for you ok. I will post back here, or what I may do is just ask Burdenday as I am sure he will know. Regards Craig |

@jack_the_ripper: It's an issue of getting your web browser to recognize that your computer knows how to play .wav files. Could you provide with the following?:
We should be able to get you up and running with PMOG sounds. |

@jack_the_ripper: http://skitch.com/burdenday/1b42... If you navigate to preferences and then click on this "Applications" tab, search
If it doesn't show up, or it has a program you may no longer have installed,
However, after reading some support documents on the subject, I would suggest installing Quicktime and letting it associate the files in Firefox. |
