(Disclaimer: i moved this from gameplay, I understand it's not a pmog issue, just you guys are pretty tech minded and you know your onions)

living in the UK, I'm redirected to the UK or european version of sites (lets say as examples - gamespot.com, becomes uk.gamespot.com, same for ask, google etc) meaning that if I've directed to ones of these types of pages in a quest, I'm automatically redirected somewhere else making my quest useless.

Is there a way to hide my whereabouts? I tried Peerguardian on the suggestion of someone else, but this either didn't work for me or was too complicated to get my impatient brain around

You could use a proxy to achieve this.

Something along the lines of http://www.freeproxysite.com/

Then the sites you visit will think that you are in whatever location the proxy is from.
Peerguardian will definately not achieve this, it is for stopping traffic to certain IP addresses!

Hope this helps, drop into IRC after about 6 (GMT) I'm sure there are several of us who can help in there =)
