Hi everyone,

If you are constantly receiving the following error in your toolbar: "There was an error parsing this page no tools will be available" please see the following for instructions on how to get back to playing with us:

http://img.skitch.com/20080604-f...

This is a temporary solution. We are looking into seeing how and why this is currently happening and how to work around it in the future.

This is solution to the problems described in: http://pmog.com/forums/pmog-misa...

I don't have that third-party checkbox. FF 2.0.0.14 and XP SP 3 if it matters. What else can I do?

Since I run Firefox with the CS Lite extension, this is going to be a bit problematic. I greatly dislike globally accepting cookies, much less those from third party sites.

Update: No, even with CS Lite disabled and the third party cookies box checked, I'm still getting the "error parsing this page" error. FF3 RC 1, PMOG 0.416, OS X 10.5.3.

If this isn't resolving your issue, there likely is something, somewhere that is causing a like-issue.

Basically, something is keeping PMOG from storing your login information on your computer.

This can be another extension, a firewall, perhaps, or a privacy preference. I will keep looking.

@misplaced-mage:

You were back up and running with a clean profile, right?

That's correct. Clean profile worked without any issues.

Clarification: The new, clean profile works without any issues. The problem still exists with the main, "populated" profile even after disabling CS Lite and following the instructions for the workaround.

I don't have any other extensions and it seems odd that my firewall would do this. I haven't done anything weird with privacy preferences in either PMOG or Firefox...

@misplaced-mage: Right. Understood.

In the next version of the extension we have worked to incorporate pretty much a "reset PMOG" function. Hopefully this will help.

This fix has worked for another individual. Please give it a try if you're getting the mentioned error.

I was having this issue, and like sylverling above, I didn't have that box to check. But everything was 'fixed' once I logged in from pmog instead of the toolbar. No idea if that's relevant.

Toolbar 0.417 doesn't solve the "error parsing this page" bug for me (FF 3.0 RC3, OS X 10.5.3) running my "normal" profile. Trying resetting the toolbar, logins, no improvement.

Will try the clean profile next.

Toolbar 0.417 works with a clean profile, so the bug still isn't (entirely) fixed.

it fixed the error parsing this page bug for me in my normal profile (ff3rc1, winxp sp3), so that's cool
now there's another problem, but I can't tell if it's caused by something else or not. the problem this thread is about, though, seems fixed for me with .417

Download Mozilla Firefox 3!

Most likely you will get that third-party cookies checkbox

It is also a change for the better :D

This may be related to the NoScript extension. I've gotten this error, gone back one page, temporarily disabled NoScript for that page, and when I interact with the pmog item (ending a mission, rating a portal, or looting a crate) it works just fine for me.

If you're keeping score, add me to the users who won't enable 3rd party cookies as a security precaution.

Even if I disable NoScript I'm still having this error. I've noticed that uninstalling NoScript resolves this issue but I'm not sure if I really want to get rid of this addon though...

Hmm - I have the fix scenario already in place. However, I tend to find that the error usually occurs when I use a certain mission
Either http://pmog.com/missions/fast_te...

or http://pmog.com/missions/50_dp__...

Not sure which - I'm boycotting both to keep clear.

the error report popup says that a description is optional but won't let you submit without one. One or the other should be changed.
