Hey, I guess most people will know that there are some users that repeatedly spam out 200+ mines per day.
At the moment we can only get 5 St Nicks on them at once. So, short of scripting a St Nick every minute or so on that person there's no real way of fighting back.

My thought is as follows, I think that it would be best that the number of St Nicks allowed on a person be a function of how many mines they have dropped in the last 24/48 hours. So if you get out 1000 mines, then you're fair game for hundreds of St Nicks... Yes, tit for tat! =)

I like that idea, Mikey.

Alternatively, 5 St Nicks per sender ... with no total limit how many the Nicked person can have on. Allows for some creative teamwork and rallying around among those who enjoy St Nicks more than mines.

@green This would be an improvement over the situation that we currently have. But, if someone puts 200+ mines on your profile, surely you should be able to put 200+ St Nicks back on them and not have to get 39 friends to help you out...

Well, I can't think why there's that limit in the first place, but assume there must be a reason, so ... was thinking within whatever that reason-limitation might have been.

Perhaps to avoid the over-tempting way to steer n00bs to the Path of Order, by St Nicking the living daylights out of them before they've had a chance to turn to the Chaotic Side.

the best way I think would be to not nick them as. like with kids show them no attention and they'll leave you alone. just my 2 cents

there's already a limit on how many mines you experience w/ each page load... just one!

I for one would like to see the st.nick limit raised a little bit... some folk could use an extra lesson.

Maybe have the limit be the number of mines they currently have in their inventory. It would make sense that a Nick can only disable a mine that exists.

I also like green's five nicks per sender idea.

Also there really should be a limit to the number of mines on a page, or at least profile pages. I know you can only get hit by one mine at a time, but 100 mines on a user page is still bad times.

Nick's needed nerfing, but I think they were over-nerfed a bit, IMHO.

@merci Yeah, one per page load is fine. People can still dump 300 on your profile at once, you just get hit for the next 300 times you visit, that's even more annoying!

Just to say it again in slightly different words, I think it would be good if each person could have as many St Nicks on them as the number of mines they have placed in the last day or so. This way people can't jsut abuse undeserving people with 'nicks.

Ugh, and some people just refuse to lay mines or are constantly at their nick maximum. This is a problem when certain people constantly cause issues in the game and need to have their peer get on them.

Such as a notorious crate stealer who keeps going in and foiling our game... and bragging about it.

I've been trying to nick him for ages, but he's max. The problem is, if I lay a bunch of mines on his site instead, I proceed to get nicked for being naughty. :(

I'm all in favor of St. Nick equality...if you're going to mine-spam you should know that retaliation is waiting in the wings for you....
I am totally with Mikey on this one, an eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and a St. Nick for every Mine.

One mine per refresh is not equality for setting 200 mines! You should be able to accept 200 St. Nicks, one for each and every mine your Destroyer persona set.

But this way the people who lay mines will have to pay twice as much dp's! I'm not pro mine spamming on profiles i think there should be a limit of 5 mines one can leave on a profile! That would solve the profile mine spamming issue!

See, laying lots of mines... that's just what destroyers do all day long lol. If people could send for example 100 st.nicks to someone he would have to buy 100 mines and then loose them all to st.nicks and then buy another 100 that he can actually lay down! Thats 8000dp! WHo would want to be a destroyer anymore if it gets that expensive?

So i suggest, make a 5 mines per profile max, same as the 5 st.nicks per player max! Then everything should be fine i think!

I like the idea of unlimited mines AND Nicks on a player. After all, nobody's just randomly going to place 100 Nicks on somebody else. If somebody's willing to Nick you that many times chances are you deserved it.

Although, I don't think that would happen anyway. If there was some sort of system to calculate how many mines you laid (and then scaled up to allow more Nicks on you) this would solve everything. It's mainly just figuring out what the ratio would be.

I do kinda see what you're saying though erty. I'm not sure if 1:1 mines to Nicks ratio is right. After all, there are ways to get around mines (armor, crates)...if someone Nicks you a bunch you're either FORCED to spend a lot of DP clearing them, or you're not allowed to do that aspect of the game anymore.

Hmm, what about a percentage of mines laid is how much you can St.Nick them for the past day (or some variable number of hours), a low but reasonable amount.

So if player lays between 1-5 mines, they can be St.Nick once, 5-10, twice, 10-15, thrice, and so on then a top total level of 1:1 St.Nicked in the last 24. So if they lay 1000 mines, one person can lay 200 St Nicks on them and with the help of 5 friends, they can max out the person with 1000 St Nick. Of course, the ratio might need to be adjusted for balance but the more you spam mines, the more you expect to waste money on your mines due to St.Nicks

A little of both worlds.
