Ubiquity ( https://wiki.mozilla.org/Labs/Ub... ) and PMOG (v0.420) won't cohabit. I get a nasty grey PMOG bar, without the "log in as owenblacker" option on it. Clicking PMOG > Login > New Login doesn't do anything. I get this both at home and at work; I guess the two Add-ons aren't compatible? |

This is a known issues, thanks for looking before posting. Pretty sure it's because Ubiquity is in version 0.1 so it's going to cause a lot of conflicts. |

@Chetyre I just used the search tool in the forums.
Neither this thread or http://pmog.com/forums/pmog-misa... appear in the search results. Even though they are both new posts, I can understand why a new one has been created, if I was new to PMOG I would try the search tool, then create a new thread when no results came up |

Which begs the question, What is up with search? |

I have never managed to use it to find anything, the other example was 6 missions called the cathedrals of baseball. I couldnt remember the name, and used baseball. 0 results. but cathedral showed 4. Not all 6, just 4. I think there is an indexing issue. |

@Chetyre: As has been mentioned by other posters, I did look, thanks. Is there likely to be an update for PMOG to avoid it or are we likely to wait until Ubiquity fixes its problems? I'm assuming the latter, but it'd be good to know either way :o) |

We need a programmer who knows why it's happening to answer these questions.
If we knew WHY it did this, we could work out how to fix it I assume. |

there's very little chance of pmog altering anything to accommodate beta software. it's described by mozilla labs as a "prototype" at this time (http://labs.mozilla.com/2008/08/... ), so the fact that it's not shooting flames at you and stomping on Tokyo is strictly providence. that said, I'm sure the techies here are going to be trying it out over the next few days (I know I am), so an unofficial fix may be forthcoming. |

@owen there is a big change coming soon to PMOG, whether this will help ease the clashing with Ubiquity I dont know, but I am sure Burdenday will throw in his 2p worth when they come online in an hour or so. Regards Craig |

@salmontickler: Ah, I didn't know that...I just noticed the thread two down from this one also titled "Ubiquity" and assumed that it would show up in the serach. My mistake. And yeah, PMOG's not going to update itself to work with highly experimental stuff like Ubiquity. It will be cool when it does, that's why I'm holding off until Ubiquity gets to at least 0.8 or something like that ;P |

It's just that they're listed right next to each other...search isn't even necessary...just looking at the list of recently created bug reports takes care of it entirely... |

I'd still like to know what exactly Ubiquity is doing to block PMOG logging in.
@Pix, True. I was gonna say it'd be okay to miss the other post since it's not showing up in search.. but really. You had to BE on the page that contained the other bug report in order to post THIS one... a cursory glance would be pleasant... |

Perhaps the search bar should be taken down until it can get a massage.

@Pixielo: Hence my original post. |

@pixielo: I did look, I promise! It might be that it was created between me clicking New Topic and Post Topic (or however they're labelled). For now, I've disabled Ubiquity and that's fixed the problem. I logged it as a bug against Ubiquity, as well, at http://gsfn.us/t/kpr — hopefully they'll fix it before anyone here devotes it too much thought. If anyone experiencing the problem could go to http://gsfn.us/t/kpr and chime in their thoughts too, that might help it work its way up their priority list… |

I'll go ahead and try to install Ubiquity with the latest beta of our toolbar I have access to and report back. I will also ask Justin today (who I believe had set up the Google search) to take a look at what is going down. Thanks for your attention to this. |

The wonderful thing here, is although this is a double post, and the previous post is still on the front page, the second post got so much attention, it may solve two problems.

I just wanted to report back that the .5 beta of PMOG will/does NOT work with Ubiquity at this time. I'm not sure what is causing the trouble, but since this was a bug we were trying to track down in the past, hopefully, time permitting, we can address it either in this release or a future release. For now, since Ubiquity is in such an early, early stage, I would advise creating another profile to use with it, and a separate one for PMOG. You can download a handy extension for that, with instructions, here: http://pmog.com/help/ffprofile

For reference, Ubiquity has just released a v0.1.1 update that fixes its conflict with the PMOG add-on. |
