I just turned 30 this past weekend (June 22), so is it OK to being my mid-life crisis now or do I need to wait until I'm 40?

Depends on how long you're planning to live.

I'm turning 40 in a few months. The last decade hasn't been bad at all. So I'd say wait.

The mid-life crisis happens when it happens. And it probably won't happen all in one neatly enclosed episode anyway.

My mid-life crisis didn't hit until mid-40's. Mainly triggered by our kids heading off for college and not needing us anymore. My role changed and I was left with; "Well now what do I do?"

So I'd say wait a few decades before 'choosing' to have one. And if you continue to re-invent yourself with long range goals, you'll avoid it all together! :)

Happy birthday!

I used to say I was having a quarter-life crisis when I graduated college and all my friends moved out of state (it's impossible to find a decent job in MI for most people) and I didn't have a career opportunity in sight.

I just have my age for my baseball jersey number so I won't forget (not in the majors or anything, just pony league for old guys!) Of course it's a great tool to taunt the college age kids. In short, you're as old as you act, and since you're in here on PMOG, you've got nothing to worry about ^_^

Well, if I'm as old as I act, then I must be about 5!!! At least that's what my wife tells me!
