There seems to be a few anime fans out there.

I thought that it might be a nice idea to start up a collaborative mission for peoples' favourite anime series, just dump a link to the series homepage, or a review or something and tell us why you like it! =)

I'm going to go ahead and say that Death Note is my favourite, the plot twists and character development are absolutely top knotch!

Also, try not to just put links to animedb entries, we need unique domains =P

I love Ghost in the Shell--first movie, second movie and SAC.

http://www.ghostintheshell.tv/

('tis the SAC website.)

It's fairly easy to find GitS online, for free.

Also (afraid of reproach)--Sailor Moon. Not necessarily for the plot line or amazing animation, of which there is not enough, but for the sheer amount of extras about/for/parodying Sailor Moon. Also, this was my first foray into anime, and I think a lot of other's as well.

I love this video.

http://video.google.com/videopla...

It's grainy as hell and was made with windows movie maker, but it still manages to be awesome.

It IS a google site, so watch out if you wanna be indie.

My display image is currently a modified version of the laughing man image that used to be on the original version of the ghostintheshell.tv site :)
It's not there anymore :(
Before 2ND GIG, I had all of the GITS content released in the USA and some of the Japanese content not normally available in North America.
Then 2ND GIG came out. I wasn't quite as impressed. I kind of stopped watching/buying the material. Now I'm not sure if I really care what direction the series goes in. The original Manga, the Movie based on it, and the first season of Stand Alone Complex...that content is my favorite.

since mikey mentioned death note, i suppose we're talking about more recent tv-anime ?

Suzumiya Haruhi all the way !

Death Note was great, but not as piercing as the original manga.

I quite like "Trinity Blood". A little cliched, but still quite good. And in anycase, DBZ for the win!

Bebop--by far. The music is good, the spaceships are cool, and there is a hyperintelligent dog and an odd pubescent girl named Ed who loves the hackz.
I too, like Trinity Blood. The art is more evocative than most anime series, and really draws on the darkness of the vampire experience. And how many cartoons use soft-focus? That's just cool use of technique.
Fullmetal Alchemist is just an interesting premise. They're brothers! And one is metal! Awesome!

Btw--since you're currently a Vigilante, this is fantastic! We need more Vigilante missions!

I do love Bebop, but Evangelion is my all-time favorite anime. I think it's my all-time favorite ANYTHING. I find myself re-watching every couple of months, and I still notice details that I never caught before.

The problem is that most of the sites are really Flash heavy, and you've to scroll madly to get the 'next' button to just_barely highlight so you can move on. A lot of the commentary is lost that way...

Btw, the links embedded in my post above are all mission-compatible.

I'm just going to have to wait until PMOG sorts that out I think.
There just isn't that many good (and official) sites that get the feel of an anime across without using flash... And I'm not willing to put in a bunch of half-decent fansites/ foreign sites :(

Somehow, I just don't think that Pmog is going to finagle things so that their pop-ups override Flash native to the sites. We can wait, we can wish...
: (

Ever ask yourself why the OP didn't make the mission? Probably for the same reason why the mission is really hard to take...Flash sucks in combination with Pmog pop-ups.

A friend of mine has been raving about Eureka Seven, I think I'd like to check it out. Any suggestions on a good place to find it?
