So wow, I have been working on getting the Indie Badge for like a week. Why? I didn't realize how addicted/ dependent I am on Google until I tried to get this badge. I have Gmail, so day one was crushed when I tried to check my mail, realizing too late that this was still Google. Whenever I search, I always go to Google, even when I am trying not to. I typed it in and it was too late, again. Then, I HAD to check my Google calendar, because I can't keep up with my own schedule... Did anyone else have this much trouble getting the Indie Badge? I did finally get it today, hooray! |

I use Google all the time, so I got my indie badge from a day when I knew that I was going to be out (and therefore offline) all day. I made sure I signed in in the morning, and then not visiting Google wasn't so hard without internet access ;-) |

I think that is accidentally how I did it. I logged once, and was out for the day. I'm afraid I couldn't do this on my own free will. |

I got it without knowing how as well. I usually don't use the internet for googling per se, but it's definitely my first choice whenever I have a question. |

I found it hilarious that my first badge was the indie badge, even though I practically live on google. So how many people have some form of google page as their homepage? |

I just realised why I got the Indie badge. I have the "better gmail" extension installed, and the "force encrypted connection" option enabled. |

Since this thread is necro'd I guess I may as well take my bite into the zombie too... I got it without trying. It was slightly unfair, because my homepage is my gmail account, but https:// is not tracked. I guess I just otherwise don't use Google. |
