"King" Kong was kind enough to lone me his body for this pic) I'm a ranch hand in Texas ( really I'm a living breathing stereotype)I also collect cowboy boots in fact I'm a bit obsessed with them I own 13 pair. another one of my hobbies is discovering new useless facts to share with; people I know, interested strangers, uninterested strangers, the goats at work ( though they never remember them), and perty much anything with ears that doesn't fit into any other category. and I'll end this small biography of my self with one of my favorite useless facts in 1958 the Natural History magazine published photos showing that flies do a sort of backward somersault when landing on the ceiling. On approaching the ceiling, and while still flying right side up, flies extend their forelegs over their heads till they can grab a landing spot with the suction cups in their feet. Their momentum then enables them to swing their hind legs up and around ( if you ever get asked how a fly lands on a ceiling in normal conversation I'd love to hear how it came up I've been trying to work it in for years now) by niftysnail 6 months ago \| Permalink
