I have seen a lot of missions for Library users and Librarians lately. This started me thinking on how I joined. I learned about this at MY library, I figure others might have learned about it at their library as well. So PMOG library workers... Sound off! |

I'm here via a post on some blog or 'nother (don't recall which one), but I am a librarian. Cataloger. Working in a top-secret government basement a really, really long stone's throw from Dealey Plaza. |

The Librarian by Giuseppe Arcimboldo. Very nice. I'm actually only a clerk at my library. However, I'm also working on getting my MLS I just have to get the BA first. |

Here via a friend. I was a library assistant (working the circulation and reserve collection desk) at a university library. Now I'm a filing manager for a bunch of accountants, which means doing pretty much the same thing, with the added complication that the patrons can take the individual papers out of the files and then mix them up and give them back to you to be put back in the files when they actually have the files checked out and on their desks. Eventually I will finish the BA and then do my country's equivalent of MLS. If I don't kill me some accountants first. |

Learned about it via Boing Boing, but I'm an ALA staffer. I work for American Libraries magazine, and also maintain the I Love Libraries website. Thus, the I Love Libraries-based mission... BTW, there could be a librarian influx this week. PMOG will be included in AL Direct, and Jenny is planning to blog about it at Shifted Librarian as well. |

I don't work in a Library by any means, unless you count the Installer/Setup program library on my computer. I'm a huge fan of librarians though. Y'all are all kinds of awesome. <3><3><3 |

Ah, I knew there had to be librarians on here! I'm a Library and Information Studies student at the University of Alabama, and I'm a reference worker at our Special Collections library. |

We heart librarians! Thank you all for being awesome. If I hadn't had a library around when I was younger, there would have been an awful lot of dull summer days spent outside enjoying fresh air, or something. Totally scary! |

I worked at the university library as a circulation and reference assistant. Now I work for a county historical society, which has a library and also a large collection of old junk. |

I'm thinking about going back to school for an MLS. I'd love to talk to somebody...ANYBODY...about what they do as a librarian and how they feel about their jobs. I figure I love reading, I love writing, I love research, so it should be a good fit. |

I have an MLS, but haven't gone the traditional library job route with it. If you are thinking of going to library school, you might be interested in A Day in the Life: Career Options in Library and Information Science, which is a collection of library science types writing about their typical day.
[Full disclosure: I wrote one of the nontraditional job entries. So if you want to know about being a Community Evangelist, I guess I'm the one to ask.] |

yup, good ol' no-caps here is a senior librarian of a small urban branch. got the MLS, etc. i love reference, but a lot of what i do now has to do with the building and the staff rather than cool data. although i guess those are just other forms of data. |

Wannabe librarian here. I am currently tracking insurance information using proprietary software, which is still giving me some worthwhile insight into electronic data organization in the meantime. |

I once did dirty things in a library. That makes me a librarian hobbyist? |

Some librarian/edtech folks whose blogs I read were Twittering about this recently and I finally took a look. Very cool! |

kflib...that's how I joined too! (mumdee) feel free to add me. I work in ILL in an academic library. My town's library just got shut down due to no money...sad. |

I'm a reserves/media librarian-type in an academic library. I just created a website evaluation mission and our director thinks this is a pretty cool set-up. |

I'm a Circulation Assistant at my College's Library. I don't get to be an 'official' librarian because I'm a student, but I get to do all the fun stuff....and the shelving, too. |
