I'm not sure if this goes here or in suggestions, but eh.

I know we have stewards and such, but I wanted to suggest a "welcoming committee" - a group of PMOGers whose job it is to greet noobs and offer their assistance when needed. I know that's expected of all of us, but if you're new to something you have no idea who knows what you want to know about the game. It would be nice if they saw something at least next to a person's name that suggested "here is someone you can trust who has the answers you want," and not just in the forums; all over the game.

Maybe that's the job of the stewards, I dunno.

I think that's pretty much one of the specific responsibilities of the stewards, like you suggested.

In that case, I suggest that they have the title or something attached to their name at all times.

That it is, although you're also correct kerrisan--nothing's stopping you from helping shoats yourself ;P I'm always happy when I lurk through the forums and see that questions like "how I mine for fish!?" have already been answered by other community members...all in all we're a pretty friendly community I'd say!

NINJA EDIT: It already is in the forums and on our profiles. I'm not sure where else they could put it in, or if they have the ability to easily do so.

@chetyre Umm . . . I looked at pixielo's profile before I made my last post and it's not there. :(

EDIT: It is on yours though, including a little hat icon.

So do I, Spottie, which is why I would love a drop-down menu in the recent happenings page so that I can find the noobs and drop 'em DP, a welcome, an invitation to hastle me for info, and random tools that I'm not using much of.

You can also use http://pmog.com/users which isn't as cluttered. I find it's easier to see when people sign up there versus trying to scan through the events page. Also, one day there may be an easier way to sort through the events...we'll see.

The welcoming committee is us destroyers isn't it? I thought we were meant to fill all new players full of mines?

@kerrisan - As Orangerineman says, that is one of our main roles, I am not sure why Pixielo hasn't got the steward hat, but as far as I know she is still a steward.

I check the players section often andsend a little hello message to new players but @sevenmacaw I would love an easier way to make sure I dont miss any, without having to read through my rss feeds from the events page.

Dunno, I eventually got on my feet after a while. With the "how-to" missions and tutorials out there it seemed fairly straightforward.

@shyiskhar
Mines were basically my welcoming committee. Pretty good teachers and therapists, you Destroyers.

We try Neewom. It's good to be mined. The warm fires in your various body hairs help you through the cold nights...

and so began the Hat Wars

edit: my working theory is that it is a profile privacy settings glitch. pix appears to have set her motto hidden from wandering huns (or else it's simply empty), and the hat normally shows up next to the motto.

No hat for me.
Sylverling = Ally
Chetyre = Ally

Perhaps this explains it.

Ah, that totally makes sense...I didn't realize that hiding your personal info/motto would also end up hiding the Steward info since it's in the same place...

Perhaps I shall send an email to the devs and see if this can be changed.
