Some sites put 'fuzzy magic bits' in the URL that will reduce your Lightpost to bits of shattered metal and shards of glass. Stupid way to make a website, but Pathmakers need to beware.

Yahoo Local does this.
Google Maps are also troublesome. Has anyone found a reliable site for adding maps to a mission?

Post here if you find a site that eats Lightposts, or if you find some way around a problem website.

There should probably be a simple URL filter that will remove certain parts of certain sites' URLs before they're checked for goodies. How much control players would have over the filter is another issue, but they should have some, e.g. to be able to submit new patterns.

There are solutions for this:

1) tinyurl is your friend;
2) Change the funky characters into their %hex equivalents;
3) Wait for PMOG to update and properly parse the URL [there are functions to make this easier];
4) Wait for PMOG to update and block URLs it realizes it can't parse.

and then there is
5) Websites with frames. PMOG should be able to recognize this and associate itself with the base document . . or one of the two sides, but that will require some DOM tree walking, but it's doable..

We'll see :)

So when I use tinyurl, I can get a mission to a particular page that was otherwise unreachable but the popup box associated with the mission (e.g. with the previous and next links) doesn't make the journey. Is there more to working with tinyurls that you could share?

Thanks in advance.
