In many cases, the trades through these forums seem to be less costly then purchasing at the shoppe. It is like being in a barter economy (e.g. Morroco) and going to the state-run ceramics shop where you pay way too much but there are lower perceived risks associated with the financial transaction. Go to the marketplace and if you know what you are doing you are fine, make friends, and get a better deal... most of the time.

Is the Shoppe just for shoats who don't do math? What say you?

Well, although it's possible to get things at a discount here, remember that ultimately it all comes from shops and the small starting amounts that shoats get. Ultimately the idea that it's "cheaper" here overall doesn't hold up when you consider that one person is always getting burned on the deal.

Furthermore, if everyone decided to stop using the shop and only trade here, we'd quickly run out of goods.

Unless there's something I'm not aware of; I am a shoat after all.

And...the prices have been finagled several times by this point...
I have a decent percentage of armour that was purchased at 200 dp each...
Nicks @ 10 dp each
Mines @ 10 dp each
Etc....

It's all relative after you've been playing a while...
