The names of English public houses relate the history of England - both national and local. As old pubs are replaced by new, the names are often retained - for commercial reasons if nothing else. To give two local examples: the Greengate was gutted and became a fast food outlet; but no-one uses the name of the outlet - which I shan't name for health reasons (mine - the sound of it makes me sick); everyone still knows the site as the Greengate. The Checkers changed its name to something fancy a few years ago (I can't remember what); but everyone still called it the Checkers, so the brewery gave in and changed the name back again. Fashion is all very well - but it goes as quickly as it comes.
terrymug, level 11, created this mission for level 1 players and above.
