This mission is not about taking you for a tour of pages I think are interesting. I'm trying to see what the potential is here for puzzling missions. Maybe you'll find this too easy -- I'll be thinking about how to make the next one more challenging in the future, but here's what I have for a first mission attempt:
The first four Lightposts will guide you to pages, the subject of which should each be summarized into a three-letter word. Concatenated in order, these twelve letters should be saved for use in a bit.
_ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _
The fifth and sixth lightposts will illuminate two more pages, again with short, one-'word' subjects that should be easily discerned. But this is where the light fades away. When these last two subjects are combined -- wrapping a dot, they will lead through the dark to another page.
_____ . ___
It is a very simple form. If you have correctly deduced and recorded the twelve letters from the first four lightposts, you can enter them in the form and read yet another destination through the black.
____________
Through interaction with this curious beacon, you will find reference to the penultimate stop of the mission.* Punch in the location of this resource and find yourself at a page with a simple left-side column. What is the most prominent type of thing in that side-bar? How many are there?
Express that number like the Romans would and toss on a .net. Go there. Stare into the sun. Savor the end of the mission.

* Edited to add:
I've had a number of people bug out at this point, not knowing what I mean above. So, when you get to that point, by interacting with that site in various ways, you'll get some kind of feedback with another URL. Capture that location.
