Let's be honest. You love your music. It's okay - everyone does. But there are those songs on your hard drive that...well, they make you cringe. Old, guilty pleasures that you just can't bear to highlight and delete. Maybe they remind you of that ex who never appreciated your thoughtfulness in creating a mix tape of old John Tesh songs. Good news! There is a light at the end of the tunnel for you, my friend. It's called Mash-ups. Artists chopped up, mixed, and served on a shiny platter. Ever thought Akon and Michael Jackson would get along? No? Yeah, me neither. Some of the tracks you'll find on the following pages are a step away from Audio Bliss, and others...well, it's kinda like when your neighbor tried mixing ketchup and chocolate milk. Seemed like a good idea at the time, but didn't fare so well in reality. That's right, mash-ups. Kinda like how you used to mix food together on your plate as a kid to make it taste better (I did, anyway. I wouldn't presume to make assumptions about your own childhood). Delicious and colorful and always made your parents raise an eyebrow. Now imagine that happening with your music. Give me your old, your tired and overplayed MP3s. Splice them up and mix them with other tracks - add a bit of something new to your old favorites. Suddenly, it's a whole new sensation. Mash-ups: music is fun again.
